I bet Prince goes though the same effects. having 1000s of people cheer you night after night has to be addictive.

I've seen Prince twice, back in 2004 & 2007. Both concerts were great. I can tell you the cravings to see a Prince concert increases with each showing. I wish I could see him in concert every year. Shake it til ya make it

Oh you too! I live in Philly too and I last saw him at the Musicology concert at the Wachovia center in 2004, after he went off It just seemed like 20,000 people were in shock just leaving the stadium, walking like a bunch of zombies. Prince's shows are so dynamic that you actually feel drained afterwards but good at the same time!

I may be in the minority here, and I'm cool with that - because my first glimpses of him doing live performances were the Prince & the Revolution Live and Sign Of the Times concert, I got to watch them over and over, and absorb every part of every song. I've gone to see him twice, 2001's hit-n-run in San Diego, and again in 04 for Musicology, and though the 2001 defintely has some indelible moments with me, for the most part, and unless I see a clip on some sharing site from the same period, I don't really remember those shows verbatim.
That said, the 01 hit-n-run was a great chance to live the experience of "he's in concert next week, go buy tickets now, let the excitement build, pray he'll show up (first chance I ever got to get tix was for the 98 show that got cancelled cuz he had that fog machine tangle, so only when I heard him actually rehearsing did I have assurance that he'd play), and it was a great show. One thing I remember well, besides the eye contact thing he can do with people at great distances, is that when it came time for his encore, I screamed my fool head off like my life depended on it. Just the energy level of the throngs of screaming fans is something that defies logic of explanation. And when he did come back, talk about a whole arena going NUTS!

I was sad when I left the "1999" show...and a little less sad, leaving the other 5. I almost hitchhiked from my seat...on one of the shows...however...I didn't feel like wearing the yellow wig through the whole concert...I thought the cousin it thing was taking it too far...I didn't want to have to write another report in the psyche ward. Prince could never depress me...I have other's to do that. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...
