Memories of Camden and Prince In the 80s we used to go around the market looking for any old dodgy tape of out takes and would pay through the nose for the less than standard gems. We would go to the Electric Ballroom to the record fair and find great stuff and even if we didnt the expectation was part of the fun.
In the 90s the tapes turned to Cds and I remember waiting with thousands of others outside of the store waiting for Prince to cut the ribbon, Mayte looked so beautiful standing with him on the balcony... Any other memories?

Yes, great memories. I lived in London as a student in the early 90s, and what an excitement it was to see the various bootlegs offered there (the days before internet...). And then of course always the question, does the student budget have space for this...

At the end of '89 I bought in Camden a "Red Rose" vinyl long-playing 7" with Just my Imagination, Red House, etc. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

Yep I was a poor uni student in the late 80s so would save my coins to get them hissy tapes off that big biker dude on a sunday! then back to the tube for the 14 minute wait for the next Northern Line train!
