BUT if u want Prince at his best i would suggest the 1979 to 88 period!!!

I think The rainbow children is a beautiful album and it speak of love not hate

To me, TRC is easily in his top 5. Best musicianship ever shown by Prince on a CD btw.
I think it is a cultural thing. I have read terrible articles about TRC in the USA and extremely positive ones in European western countries. Very weird.

I think The Rainbow Children is a great album. Even though I don't always agree with the sentiment presented in many of the lyrics, I ADORE when Prince is passionate about something. I'll take sincerity over banality any day. After all, I don't have to agree with what he's saying to FEEL what he's saying.

I had to come back just to post on this CD.
If you were around on the old ORG we used to have a mysterious poster here in the late night hours around March,April,and May of 2001 called The Rainbow Child. Many of us here at that time thought that it was someone bullshitting with us .I think that it was Prince himself because of some of the responses that he left with our questions.

Anyway in regards to the questions bout this CD he said that it would sound different to the person and the listener would respond to the album as if they had a mirror to their soul.

With the many reactions to this album I think that that is a correct statement in regards to that album.

TRC when you hear it reflects your soul back to you.

TRC is his last creative effort. it reminded when he used 2 consistently used 2 do this back in the day. I apologize 2 LOVE 4 ONE ANOTHER... I'm a huge fan of wbai and all of the prince specials. I've been a fan of them since anthony sloanback in 1985. like sly stone said... diffrent strokes 4 dfferent folks. i'm sorry for the fams comment as well. You're a prince fan.. and that all by itself shows you have great taste in music. I'll never challenge your tastes again. Will u 4give me?....BOBBY
