A friend of mine kind of waited too late to see him, in a way. She was a semi-fan for years, but she didn't actually see a live show until Musicology. Well, she was actually a litte bit disappointed because she was expecting more dancing like he used to back in the day (she's the type that likes a lot of choreography in shows). I told her, "Honey, I think those days are over!"shrug

I remember seeing that live and thinking, "Woah!" lol

Prince kicks ass in concert. I've taken people to his concert, who were not even a fan, and they absolutely had a great time!
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

you are missing having your ears ringing for two days. you are missing prince climbing on speakers. you are missing the crowd going wild. you are missing smoking a one hitter with a stranger just because. you are missing going to the after show and meeting prince and the band members and watching the video tape of that night's concert until 5 am.you have got to see prince in the flesh.

falloff I'm disappointed in you eireboy - if you're being serious, or are you just still disappointed about our Lovesexy dance routine being shelved?!!

Dewrede, you're so right... ALL the aftershows were off the hook, past his prime he's not!!

KILL for a ticket to see Prince live, that's my only advice!

rainbow rainbow rainbow rainbow

you havent lived till youve seen an aftershow!

there is nothing in this world like live music and prince is the ultimate entertainer, the guitar is unreal you can feel it in your bones.

concerts are great but not like a more intimate venue id say that for any band but you GOTTA see prince live.

words cannot describe the experience.

In a way I think that you are best to NEVER see him live..

Because once you do you'll never get over it!

The world will seem grey in comparison..and you'll just spend the rest of your life comparing everyone to him..

And you'll have no friends because you'll be "Oh, it's not as good as Prince.."

And they will look at you like you are a mad lunatic..

sad sad sad sad sad sad sad
Shut up already, damn.

i agree ..since the ONA tour its been boring as hell and it's not because of the songs it's just the fact of life that's he's gotten older and less adventureous on stage with the dancing, no splits, but he's just a musician that tears up his instruments.
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

lool hope its soon..missed him at the 02 because i only started this year to be a big fan. Wish he could come to london again.

That would be cool for all the UK people, though I want him to come back to NYC first and then go over to London! lol It would make sense for P to do a show out there when his 21 Nights book comes out, but who knows? In any event, just start saving money so that it won't kill your wallet/purse. nod

just call me where the aftershow is at so i can party then rather than the main gig giggle

The first time I saw Prince live was actually 1995/96ish. The concert was decent. Not great, not bad though. He had good energy.
I was surprised at how good he sounded live, and the fact that he chose to play Purple Rain early on in the concert (it was like the 3rd song he played). I was also annoyed he played a short, truncated version of it.

But that same night I saw an afterparty and was pretty much blown away.

I have never, ever heard anyone say they didn't like him live. Even the folks that don't like him say he is great live. I know folks that don't even own one of his CD's but will always go to a live show. He is just off the chain....

Plus, You will never see the same thing twice. Michael you will get the same crotch grabbing crap, Madonna the same Lesb's and touching herself crap but P...different every time. I have seen him 5 times and not once has anything been the same...Just amazing....Now I will admit that sometimes the effort might not be all there but...but...it will still be the best show you will ever see.

Have you seen him on TV? Max it by 100% and get ready to dance. I still love the entrance he made on the AMA's for Billy jack bitch...

Did U C The Superbowl Halftime Performance?

Even though he dances less these days, he can work a crowd. Show Man all the way... Half way into the concert you will realize this brother is a Multi-talented Super Star. I love when he slows everything and talks all sweet and sexy. Thats when U get the Big Prince moment. Then he may come back for an encore and by then the funk is so sick its oozing out of your ears. The Man can play, play, play, and then play some more... Be careful what you want, If you come to get your Purple Rain on, you maybe in the wrong house~ lol
Just ride the groove and enjoy the experience. Its a party after all...

Oh yeh,

Sold my Water Bed for $40.00 to C LoveSexy Concert in Cincinatti. I had some of my best sexual experiences on that bed. I sold it in a second to see Prince for my first time. $40.00 bought 2 tickets back then.

I really loved, "Musicology," when I saw the live show...although before that, I saw the opening of "Musicology," at the theatre...and although I wasn't at the venue...I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the second row....ya know. cool

In fact...I had more peace and quiet to pay close attention to the show...I loved being in the room with everyone at the live gig...and then when I looked back and compared the two experiences...If I couldn't be in Prince's arms...I'd rather have close up seats through a camera lenz...that drew me closer with the zoom...

At the live show in the second tier...I was standing in beer...it was the stickiest concert I have ever been to...

Either way...being as close to Prince as you can when He is performing is something to enjoy. cool
