The part of princes music that always chokes me up is the high vocal part of purple rain just after the solo and before the orchestral part at the end. Its that culminated with the look prince does when hes singing it he really knows how to convey pain with his eyes its a beautiful thing really well composed.

Purple Rain live tears me up. I can barely watch the Super Bowl PR, I was crying like a punk bitch during the third quarter after he sang. That song always gets me.

And I mist up during "Damn U" too.


I know I'd never make it through a concert w/o waterproof mascara!

can't remember if i've said this before, but the first time or two, i ever heard the madhouse (essentially prince) song 8, almost brought a man to tears . can't remember hearing anything so beautiful. "huh, huh, huh" and the flutes . it still gets to me sometime.

His music makes me cry quite often, usually when I'm not really expecting it, I'll just be listening, maybe not paying attention, and then realise that I'm filling up or actually crying! Usually it's his guitar that does it... Recently, I was driving along, listening to his 'most recent concert', Purple Rain came on, and I was thinking hmmmm... I don't know if I like the way he started it this time, and that maybe PR was just becoming a big 'production' type number... then a few moments later, I had tears rolling down my face - literally - it's that GUITAR - it should be illegal!! I couldn't believe that PR could still do that to me, and I mailed Lottielooloo all amazed, and she said 'you're really emotional aren't you?!'

Oh, and lots of his other stuff does it to me too, sometimes his piano playing, and when he gets really passionate, and screams blue murder, it really comes from his gut, and how can you not be moved by that?

When i hear 'Sometimes it snows in april' it gets to me. The notes he hits as the piano is playing in the beginning chokes me up

Theives in the Temple Remix Version- How come you said that I was your baby when U and your love was gonna leave? U led me on thinkin U was Moses, herdin' sheep blindly through a fantasy- This line hit's home with the the my ex I left a little over a month ago. It get's the tears a rollin'. Other than that, Condition of the Heart makes me get misty just because of how haunting and beautiful his voice sounds.

Nothing compares 2 U. He sang that at the very end of the first O2 concert I attended last year, and it left me unhinged for the next few weeks. If anything Prince's version was even more heartbreaking that the Sinead O'Connor version.

Fortunately the second concert, a month or so later, was more upbeat.

yes, i've cried, there were times in the past that a certain lyric seemed to fit with what was going on in my life. his music has always been a great comfort to me in difficult times! it was always my escape.
