I think he will someday.

I would not mind a single CD of 60-70 mins too.
D&P, prince, and Gold were all pretty long albums. They would have been double-vinyl albums.

Probably using vinyl records as the standard (20-25 mins a side). Prince has probaly released more double albums than single albums in his whole career.

We have been very blessed thus far.

Anxiety

it's hard to consider what is a "double album" these days, because a CD can hold up to at least 80 minutes of music, which pre-CD, would have been considered a double album, but now it's just considered one really long CD album.

of course, he could break it down into segments like kate bush did on her "ariel" album - she released her last album as a two disc set, even though you could technically squeeze all the music into one disc. the idea was that each disc had a different theme and should be listened to as companion pieces. i'd love it if prince were enthusiastic enough about his material to do something creative like that.

in terms of sheer volume, though, i really like the fact that he's kept his past few albums down to under 50 minutes. he doesn't need to be stressing about filler material to clutter up a CD.

We'll just have to wait and see...What if Prince released something overboard, like a 99 cd, extended single volume...? I don't think that anyone would complain anymore... cool
