Sign of the times dvd I was watching the sign of the times dvd the other night and theres a fat black guy on it whos as camp as they come in a white tshirt fanning down a female singer. I mean whats going on did he get paid for doing that its about the only contribution he makes in the entire dvd apart from mincing about in the background. Its both really weird and hilarious at the same time.
Do you know who Im talking about? He appears in the forever in my life section of the dvd. I mean if that is what he was hired for what the hell did the job advertisement read like. LET A WOMAN BE A WOMAN AND A MAN BE A MAN

Wally Safford and Greg Brooks, former bodyguards ("U call 'em bodyguards but I call 'm my friends // I guess I'm used 2 havin' 'm around") turned backing 'singers' // sidekicks // whatever.
They are real good at scanting Ow Wee Oh Oho.

Anyways. Before other start; I think the one you mean is Wally, but I can be mistaking. Prince once recorded a song titled Wally, as relayed to the adoring masses by sound engineer Susan Rogers, which says the song was the only song she knows that Prince ever erased cuz it was too personal.
It is Prince talking (or singing or whatever), addressing Wally, telling him how down he is or something. Prince re-recorded it later with different lyrics (if I recall right) and embelished it with stuff, turning the entire song inside out.
