It's Mayte speaking in the intro of the "exodus" album and it's Nona Gaye saying stuff like:
"Who are U and what am I doing in your videos. I'm sure I don't fit your idea of beauty. Maybe the lack of sun is messing with your head...respond" or "I am me and no one gets inside without the key. I don't need one of [those] punks tryin' to rule me. They gotta see me, they gotta see me...now" These sentences r from "the beautiful experience" video broadcast. Rain Ivana was a receptionist at The Record Plant in Los Angeles, where a lot of the overdubs for The Gold Experience were done. Prince liked her voice and asked her to perform those segues. | |
