okay, not a stupid shitty-ass movie like Graffiti Bridge or Under the Cherry Moon, but a real movie. Something with...credibility. Not Purple Rain 3, no "Kid" character, but something normal people would want to watch.

I think he has it in him, totally. One condition though - he'd have to let an actual director call the shots. Could it ever happen?

Honestly, I would love to see Prince in a movie too. Problem is, he's not one to take direction from anyone else, at least not in 2008, so I'm not holding my breath with this one. Sad but true.

Some obscure character in a Tarantino flick or maybe something directed by Spike Lee. Other than that,I can´t really see him taking any directions from someone else. He should have done a few cameos in the past couple of years.
I wonder what that 3121 movie was about.

here's the other thing that would prevent prince ever doing another movie, he would probably have 2 wear normal shoes and u know that ain't happening with that brother

but he could fulfill his promise of doing the robert johnson story

He´s got a lot of discipline so I think he COULD act well if the script was right and his ego more humble. That great rockstar era is over anyway,these days, it would be futile to rely on the "fame" factor like so many other musician-turned-actor people do.

Yup i was thinking about this just the other day..but i dont think UTCM was as bad as people think but i dont know why he had 2 die at the end or why there was a british daughter, british dad and american mother based in france lol. I think if he ever did another movie i would love to see him as a dad or some shit ..but the script has to be just right no ego

Didn't Prince say something not too long ago (either on his website of somewhere else) about doing another movie soon that would "answer all the questions"? Or am I just imagining that? er, maybe he was talking about the JW video he did with Kevin Smith...

Although I disagree with your opinions about UTCM and Graffiti Bridge, I totally agree with the rest you said. He should do a movie where his character is someone other than himself.

Yes he should and here is the plot:


The year is 2013 prince has finally given in to public demand and released purple rain mk2 and in doing so has once again become the biggest star on the planet. One night at paisley park prince gets a knock on the door its his old rival michael jackson who by this stage is living in a 1 room bedsit and gets by on the royalties he still gets from the one beatles song he held onto. Michael is in floods of tears and desperate to get back into the limelight and so begs prince for help. Prince takes pitty on his old rival who by this stage looks more like bob marley having decided to go back to black and in one night writes a new album for him. A month later the album is released to critical acclaim and michael jackson is massive again and prince has his old rival back. On the final night of jacksons sell out tour he is joined on stage by prince for an amazing finale.

I would call the film From Plastic To Fantastic.

He was enjoyable in Purple Rain, because of the music, the external director and because the story was semi-autobiographical.

He was at his best in Sign of the Times, doing what he does best: performing live (or.. mimicking to earlier recorded live material... lol)

But, UTCM and Graffiti Bridge just show he is a worthless actor.
