The idea of Prince being a voodoo priest or Hogun. It did make sense for while as he was fairly light skinned and decended from people in Louisiana the home of gumbo and black magic. Also look at the aspects of sex and piety in his music as well as him being viewed as an alchmist of styles.
Reasons why it could be truth 1. His parents are from Louisiana and apparently have some French and creole blood in them 2. Princes god like powers in music 3. His powerful and controlling hold over girlfriends, proteges and sidekicks. Yet he is a physically slight man. 4. Princes dabbling with his dark side, eg Spooky Electric, the day Susan Rogers saw his eyes dilated (late 1987) 5. The time he went to dinner at Michael Jacksons house and gave him a feather in box. 6. The fact he is 50 and does not look it 7. The constant references to a God in his music and sex in the early days 8. Songs like "Theres others here with us" 9. His style suggests a modern day Baron Samedi. BUT, Probably since about 1990 hes stopped it and has found God, maybe through Larry Graham, but still theres a bit of substance to this rumour and he could be using the jw as a front for the true Prince 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

We have all enjoyed him for so long but he is way too young for that! If that ever comes to pass I hope he would get some good lovin' comfort from all of us.
I believe the hip replacement. I am close to Prince's age. Birthday or no birthday, his bones and joints are 50 years old. I just had knee surgery due to cysts and ligament damage. Once the doctor got into my knee he saw it was even worse than first thought. In a number of years I will need a knee replacement. Now think of someone doing the splits and dancing in high heels for the past 30 years! Hell yeah his hip is messed up! I hope that you recover and I am so sorry about your knees. Best wishes to you. I am a pretty positive person but not naive. I know full this could be true but for me I wish the best for him. I am sick myself and fight for everyday. I try to think along the lines of 50 years young. I would like to believe he takes precautions before and after his shows. [Edited 7/17/08 22:36pm] MY BROWN EYES NO LONGER BLUE

Not really a bad one, but there was rumor circulating that in the mid-90s, Prince liked going to SM dungeons and whipping and otherwise torturing the female submissives.

Also, that he was half Italian, and that he was a 7th Day Adventist preacher (heard this from some dumbfuck bs artist in my neighbor's family)

When it comes to rumors...and what we witness with our own two eyes...Prince could be a virgin...in my eyes...With all that I have learned in life about propaganda, liars, and distorted versions of a story between the absolute truth in God's perspective...I am lost in the variations...like everyone else is. It was a joke. Are STD's just as funny in places of the world that can't afford medical treatment? Or are they only funny for the people that carry several varieties of raincoats in their cars? or wallets? or purses? I happen to think that STD's are only funny for the people that can afford to bring them home in their suitcases. That's sarcasm for the fact that disease spreads more quickly by the men and women that move around the planet. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I am not implying that a pornograhic and premiscuous minds cannot be born in Hollywood, travel to Japan, and come back here...Or impying that historical toga parties did not contribute to a global problem. However, what we know about disease is that not everyone can afford to be diagnosed to eliminate themselves as a transmitter. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

On the lighter side of life...I heard that The history channel will have a show on Monday night at 8 or 9 pm on the technical side of "The Dark Night." I think it's fascinating to see how they build the sets for Batman, and all of the engineering involved in promoting our super hero. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Some women just lose their hair, which could be due to age, illness, or medications. It has nothing to do with a perm. Now doing a perm at home when you do not know what you are doing is going to cause you to lose some hair but going to have your hair done professionally will prevent any mishaps.

It's not untrue! I tell my sister about herself all the time it doesn't mean I don't love her. Like I said earlier, I told Tora the topic needed to be locked bcuz what she said I wasn't prepared to hear. It was all a joke, I wasn't serious about the lock and there was no need for the little debate. I'm over the lock thing...I'm just saying...that when you give someone a compliment...such as I like you...It will continue with because...if it is genuinely true...if it is less than half-true...the word but will fall out of your mouth.
Which would you rather hear from a friend? Kida, I like you but, your avatar is out of focus. Or.... Kida, I like you because your avatar is kinda cute. That's all. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

I would want a friend to tell me the truth and if she has to tell me that my avatar is out of focus for my benefit than who cares. This is obviously headed in a direction that I don't want to go, so with that I say good luck with the rest of your thread & [Edited 7/18/08 21:33pm] surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water

Voodoo is not evil, its not all zombies and black magic, its actually African nature worship and a lot of it affirms human relationships with nature, to me voodoo has always been a fascination rather than a horror. My people the Maori in New Zealand has similar beliefs, we worship nature in all its forms and can also mould into Christian belief and Dogma, eg in the early 1900s, there was a famous Maori Prophet call Rua Kenana who believed he was the incarnation of Jesus Christ and had a community of pure people in a place called Maungapohatu (sacred mountain). Like voodoo, nature was the supreme pillar of respect (eg the water masses in haiti). And like Prince, some of us are sure fine looking people.
PS Rua is still venearted as a god in that area and theres an official church called Ringatu based on his beliefs (Its on Wikipedia) 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

Voodoo may have a historical root, that I do not comprehend....However, anything that comes in a form of a prayer or a wish...will go through Jesus...and for any prayer that has an ill-intention...It will come back to the person who had sent it. There are mixed beliefs I am sure...however, those that go straight to Jesus...and immediately cut out the middle man...when the prayer is sincere, and with loving regard...Jesus will adhere. For people that do not realize that a voice travels forever...there is a catcher. As a man thinketh...so is he...and those (thought prayers) also exist in forever...It is very important to make sure...that if you pray for your prayers to be answered...that other people are not hurt in the process...because that is the Voodoo, that Yoodoo. Tricky, but true. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...
