The idea of Prince being a voodoo priest or Hogun. It did make sense for while as he was fairly light skinned and decended from people in Louisiana the home of gumbo and black magic. Also look at the aspects of sex and piety in his music as well as him being viewed as an alchmist of styles.
Reasons why it could be truth
1. His parents are from Louisiana and apparently have some French and creole blood in them
2. Princes god like powers in music
3. His powerful and controlling hold over girlfriends, proteges and sidekicks. Yet he is a physically slight man.
4. Princes dabbling with his dark side, eg Spooky Electric, the day Susan Rogers saw his eyes dilated (late 1987)
5. The time he went to dinner at Michael Jacksons house and gave him a feather in box.
6. The fact he is 50 and does not look it
7. The constant references to a God in his music and sex in the early days
8. Songs like "Theres others here with us"
9. His style suggests a modern day Baron Samedi.

BUT, Probably since about 1990 hes stopped it and has found God, maybe through Larry Graham, but still theres a bit of substance to this rumour and he could be using the jw as a front for the true Prince

On the lighter side of life...I heard that The history channel will have a show on Monday night at 8 or 9 pm on the technical side of "The Dark Night." I think it's fascinating to see how they build the sets for Batman, and all of the engineering involved in promoting our super hero.

Voodoo is not evil, its not all zombies and black magic, its actually African nature worship and a lot of it affirms human relationships with nature, to me voodoo has always been a fascination rather than a horror. My people the Maori in New Zealand has similar beliefs, we worship nature in all its forms and can also mould into Christian belief and Dogma, eg in the early 1900s, there was a famous Maori Prophet call Rua Kenana who believed he was the incarnation of Jesus Christ and had a community of pure people in a place called Maungapohatu (sacred mountain). Like voodoo, nature was the supreme pillar of respect (eg the water masses in haiti). And like Prince, some of us are sure fine looking people.

PS Rua is still venearted as a god in that area and theres an official church called Ringatu based on his beliefs (Its on Wikipedia)

Voodoo may have a historical root, that I do not comprehend....However, anything that comes in a form of a prayer or a wish...will go through Jesus...and for any prayer that has an ill-intention...It will come back to the person who had sent it. There are mixed beliefs I am sure...however, those that go straight to Jesus...and immediately cut out the middle man...when the prayer is sincere, and with loving regard...Jesus will adhere. For people that do not realize that a voice travels forever...there is a catcher. As a man thinketh...so is he...and those (thought prayers) also exist in forever...It is very important to make sure...that if you pray for your prayers to be answered...that other people are not hurt in the process...because that is the Voodoo, that Yoodoo. Tricky, but true.
