In Last December, Prince doesn't mention somebody dying - he poses questions (to a third party or the listener) asking what they would do if their last December came.

I did wonder about this also...knowing that the beginning he sings..."If your last December came, what would you do.? And later the song says..."Did you ever find the reason why you had to die.?
