Prince attends a J*Davey concert last night Looks like Prince hit the town in L.A. last night.
www.drfunkenberry.com J*Davey just finished a lil over an hour set that left fans sweating and waving their hands in the “Ayre” as Flo Rida & Wil I Am would say. The free concert as we told you about (http://drfunkenberry.wordpress.com/2008/07/07/free-jdavey-concert-in-la-tuesday/) was something else and afterwards was bumping with DJ Rashida on the 1’s n 2’s while we left. To our surprise, Prince showed up in support of J*Davey and watched their set. We only say to our surprise because the Echoplex’s VIP area always looked rather small to us. Love the venue nonetheless. Prince left a little bit before the end of J*Davey’s set to beat the crowd. J’s new cd dropped earlier today and may not end up #1 with Beck’s new CD dropping, but we hope it makes top 5.-Dr.FB Prince couldn't have picked a better group to see. I saw them last month and they were on point. Check them out cause they are real cool. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

There is NOTHING 4 Prince 2 learn from Beck whatsoever. hmmm, you may want to listen to Guero again then?. Not to get into a Beck vs P debate but seriously put Becks last 4 albums up against P's last 4 albums and seriously tell me that Beck doesn't impress?.

why is it that people always take these threads off topic!!! There really needs to be a filter to stop this from always happening!
and for the record Beck is bad-ass but really Prince aint going to learn nothing from Beck that he doesnt already know - the only thing he could really learn is to team with some great producers whcih we know P will never do - so STOP the madness! The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Heard about them through this thread and instantly thought their sound is a perfect example for one of many possible directions that Prince's sound could go if only he was willing to reinvent himself a little.Note i'm not talking about melodies, vocal arrangements or songwriting but the production(sound/arrangement) side of things.
