RNRHOF was pretty special, particularly the george harrison tribute.

i still adore the '87 MTV awards, i think because it had been a while since we'd seen prine in the media and i was NOT expecting him to pop up with crazy looking hair, granny glasses and a crazy jean jacket. i remember going nutso when the lights came up on him, and then the performance of SOTT was fantastic as well.

of course, there was the butt-pants performance of "gett off" a few years later, which i think should get points for originality. lol

I second that emotion. That '87 performance blew me away. The RnR Hall Of Fame performance was sheer passion... off the hook. I even dug the "Gett Off" performance.

I don't see how in Hell anyone could pick the Brits performance as the best ever, when I thought it was mediocre 4 Prince. Especially when compared 2 great performances such as what Anx mentions here, and also the classic "Purple Rain" performance in the Green outfit, where he kicks over the mic stand ferociously, and rips on the guitar... was that the "American Music Awards"?

The ALMA awards performance DESTROYED the Brits... Just sayin'...

I think everytime he goes on a show, we can look forward to a spectacular moment and performance! I loved it when he came on the Grammys too.

Another that sticks out for me are both Grammy performances. The 1985 because he was on top of the world and 2004 because he was on top of his game.

PRINCE'S best perfromance is most definitely the 1987 mtv video music awards show. he kicked royal ass on that one. i think that's the best mtv award performance of all time. his worst performance was the grammy awards when the mike hit his head, during baby i'm a star confused

I have two favorites.

The 1985 Grammys, because I mean come on. Princey was looking good in that white lace and all, and I'm a sucker for Princey in white lace. Yum-o.

And I also liked P Control in 95. That was so avant garde and I haven't seen any one before or since who kicked tail like Prince did. And looked good. Prince in the red Versace (?) suit. Loves it! touched

Grammy's 85, The energy was ridiculous there. Insane.
Even though baby brother took his head off with the microphone.

Brit awards 06 and AMA 85, Just because Purple Rain was off the hook for both. I don't like that song like that, but I will CRY like a baby for them. And the man had some attitude at the AMA's. Damn.

Grammy 04, I know alot of people hate on it, but it means alot to me. I fell in love with
him, there.

Oh, yeah. And the RnR hall of fame. He tore that mutherfucker UP during the Harriron tribute.

I don't think he has a bad tv performance...

i can't fault any of the performances, they're all lovely 4 different reasons, but tht white lace jobbie does stick in my mind!
actually, i realised i'm thinking of a different night..it wasn't 1985!..much later..
i'm not sure what the occasion was - thts just a minor detail..but tht white lace outfit...phew! he was working it tht night..

i had 2

I'm not sure what year it was but I think it was the AMA's when they did the Purple Medley (of his hits) before he came out and did a medley from the 4th coming Gold Experience CD.
