Does ONA Live Box Set = No More Tours?

I seem to remember folks asking Prince why he never released a live CD, especially since his live shows are so desirable and showcase his talent so well. He replied that he would release a live album when he stopped touring/playing live.

So...does this release signal the end of his live performances?

Whaddaya think?

In a word...No.

Prince couldn't stop playing live if he tried.
Though I wouldn't expect him to tour again for at least a year or two after the extensive 'One Nite Alone...' tour.

Might be the end of the club, though. It may sound cynical, but I've been thinking lately that maybe the whole purpose of the club was to fill the first rows with fans so that the recordings would be better...

I agree with you...

Also..

He will not allow Johnny Blackwell to get away...not yet.

I think that he and John will return to Minneapolis to record alone..(since Prince can play everything else)

Rhonda may want to record her own stuff..She's been with The NPG for three more tours since her last CD.

Renato may work with Sheila again.

[Btw: Sheila, Eric, Blackwell, Greg, and Candy are all together on this tour..hmmm.. I hope this "gathering" will lead to some good instrumental jazz like Madhouse..Just a wish. Oh..Doctor's not there...yet]

Although I believe that he's going to record with Eric Leeds again, the horns seem interchangeable.

Just another example of Prince saying something that he doesn't really mean.
Brownmark is no longer in his band but you still hear bass in his songs! Remember that one?

Are you kidding me? Prince has no other form of income besides getting his fams to pay $125 a night for his shows.

I mean yeah he makes a little bit of money from his albums and the club, but certainly not enough to keep living his lifestyle. He has to keep Paisley and all his homes and his staff paid for. It's not cheap to be Prince.

My guess is that Prince will continue to tour non-stop for the rest of his life much like Bob Dylan. There will be breaks of course, but Prince will probably tour 4-6 months a year for life.
