"The Best Of . . ." Buy it or not? Is "The Best Of Prince" by WB worth bying it? I got all the songs already on CD. But are the tracks on "Best Of" remasterd? Should I save my money? "Don't hate me 'cuz I'm fabulous!" | |

I think it's only worth buying if you haven't got anything by prince yet or if you're a completist...
Or if you haven't got a cdr and you need something in your car  I feel pretty, that's enough | |

If they were remastered, WB would have made a huge point of it to increase their sales to people who already own these tracks. This happens all the time in the Jazz world. Companies like Columbia and their Legacy reissue division stick huge bright stickers on the covers to get people who already own an older copy to notice that its remastered or whatever. They are NOT remastered. The levels were matched so that the newer songs mached the older ones, not vice versa. Ya gotta wait on that. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

As I understand it WB only owns masters by Prince, not multitracks, so they can't re-master only edit their mastertapes, unless the would pay him some dosh for it.. I feel pretty, that's enough | |

MMMmmm I don't think they're remasterd. I wouldn't put my money on that tho,,HITS/B-SIDES is the real "The best of" That's true. Go buy The Hits/The B-Sides and the original albums. Don't waste your money in that lame compilation. | |
