Okay , Prince pops round for a nice cup of tea ....what do you play on the stereo to impress him? I'm thinking D'Angelo -how does it feel...Skipworth and Taylor- thinking about you ,or ,do you think he would appreciate the Black Parade?

I have some Java Jive cd's...which are collections of Jazz songs...That would probably be appropriate 4 tea...Although maybe a Basia cd would be nice.

Time Love and Tenderness by Michael Bolton, then perhaps a little Roxette or Bitty Maclean.

yes, Bolton. For sheer musicianship, unbridled emotion and tender melodies. Second only to Pliers out of Chaka Demus and Pliers.

Just to give him some good music...

Eddie Palmieri's "Puerto Rico" & "Adoracion".

Janis Joplin version of "Summertime" & "Ball & Chain" (live version).

La Lupe "Teatro", "La Gran Tirana".

Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata".

The music\sound track from "The House Of Flying Daggers".

Throw in some Mars Volta.

The Shockadelica box set. cool

But in reality, perhaps some Cocteau Twins as I heard he likes them. Maybe some Kate Bush to see if he'll do another collaboration - I can dream!!

I don't believe he has much interest in music anymore, but if pushed, I would spin a little Cocteau Twins (just like the poster above) with maybe a little Martina Topley Bird thrown in for good measure.

I would play something that had a deep meaning in the words, words that overshadowed the music so that we could discuss them and such....then he would most likely get inspiration to create more music and songs.

Come on guys!! eek What would impress Prince is Prince!!
Didn't he say at some point, all he listens to in his car was his own work!!
lol
I'd pull out some booteleg shit and make him talk about the stuff was never released or get some un-answered explinations on some of the released songs.
That would make a fine evening for me.

I'd make him listen to his own albums from 1982-1986 then I'd make him listen to all of Wendy & Lisa's CD's.
