Lynn Norment, who wrote Prince's piece is one of the managing editors of Ebony. I remember meeting her a few years ago at an NABJ convention. She's been around a long time. I agreed with her assertion that "everything" about Prince makes him cool.

Different contributors wrote the blurbs. I liked Norment's about Prince the best. The ones about Miles, Jimi, Ali and Bob Marley were pretty good. I thought Denzel's was dead on because they said his cool factor was "the walk."

This was the last Ebony cover he was on: They do very nice respectful stories with him and he always grants them interviews.

No, he will not. Prince has done many of interviews, and covers with EBONY/JET magazines during his care. they're always respectful of him. It's a black thing, you wouldn't understand.

I went to several stores today and none had Prince on the cover, sure they had Obama, Jay Z, Lawrence Fishburn and even Billy Dee-- did someone buy out all the Prince covers?

I found this issue on saturday while I was on the subway. I was transfering trains and there it was hanging high at the newsstand on the platform and I got one for me and a few of my friends. As you can see, it's a great piece on the man and the issue as a whole is pretty good too. It was worth the $4 for sure.

I went 2 3 places b4 I found the Prince cover in Borders.I was so xcited when I finally found it! Congratz 2 Prince!

I was able to find it at a local Walgreen's. The Border's bookstore that I go to sucks, because they don't carry Jet or Ebony. I've learned my lesson to not go there if I'm looking for a magazine with Prince on the cover.
