New to this site, dont post much, usually set back and listen to P and read, very entertaining the song get it up it's by the Time? but P is all over this song vocals and instruments (I think). heard a long version (10 min.) on satellite radio and it just rocked can someone give me some info on this?

Prince, Morris and Jill Jones in the studio tearing it up. Morris on drums and Prince on everything else. Straight hotnastiness!

Is there a version longer than the 9-minute one that appears on the album, or is the 'long version' just the album version?

Definitely a catchy tune. Embarassed to say that I heard the TLC version before I heard Prince and Morris laying it out.

Prince is playing drums on the two ballads, "Girl" and "Oh Baby". "Oh Baby" was actually for Prince's second album. But P replaced it for "With You". The version on The Time's album is exactly the same version. P just erased his lead vcal off and kept his backing vocals on there and added Morris's lead on "Oh Girl". Dez is playing drums and guitars on "After Hi School".

I'm fimiliar with Get It Up through TLC as well(Poetic Justice movie) and I'm not ashamed.

I knew the Prince connection even before I forwarded the movie untill the songs credit infos where I sited his name as the composer.

And I even heard If I Was Your Girlfriend through TLC too. In fact, them and Mariah are the reason why I checked Prince in the 1st place.
