What happened to The Rainbow Children/Musicology/3121?

What happened to these albums? I am seeing less and less of these in the record stores. Also I checked FYE.com and it says that all of these albums are discontinued. Also Musicology has been off iTunes for some time. What happened to these albums. All of Prince's music should be available for everyone. So is every album that Prince puts out now only going to be available for a limited time? These albums are good and should be available for all who decide to start listening to Prince.

P has these one off deals with the record companies and I believe he keeps the master tape so the record company is not going to have copies to send out to retailers.
It would appear that it would be up to Prince to keep supplies of the CD available for retailers. The only reason I think he may be doing this is so he can continue to sell the CD at his concerts and maybe on some future website.

You can still get these in the stores, but as they are all simply one off deals they are "limited". It would not surprise me in the least if Prince decides to never re-release anything and that all that is out there will eventually be HIGHLY collectible.

"out there will eventually be HIGHLY collectible."

Co-Sign. I would grab up anything he putting out as long as he he independent or doing the one-off deals.

I'm always checking FYE for a copy of the Batman album since they resell used CDs. I've seen Musicology several times and they still have 3121. I havent seen TRC for awhile though.

Seeing as that is going for 15 and up on Ebay, my guess is that TRC is going to be a hard find real soon.

So you mean they have a supply alloted to them?
I don't know if you mean how some Japanese companies do stuff by making only
what they gonna sell and not have lots of product sitting on the shelf
(so they don't have their money all tied up in them - Geez, I forgot the term already since I stoped working at that company. lol)

Same here in Moscow, plenty of copies of all three, both the US and European editions - and I'm not talking about the pirated copies:)

That is what I think it would make sense since actually owns the master tape.
