Has anybody seen this documentary about prince that was aired on bbc3 a few years ago. Its supposed to be about how much hes worth because I have a few questions about it. The first part is below:

they filmed and interviewed at one of the london dawn experience parties, but only used a small clip of a guy dancing whilst i played the days of wild live cd from the 2002 celly. they interviewed a bunch of fans but didn't use the footage

Also where the hell do they get these figures from I mean at the end its says prince is worth 40million but he earned that from a tour in one year he did a couple of years ago when he was the highest earning tourer of that year.

they explain through the show how they come up with the figures, it's just people estimating how much he is worth based on back catalogue, concert sales, what they've spent, etc. i think the show was made in 2002 so that was before the musiclogy tour that was the biggest netting tour that year. the ONA tour was much smaller and played to theatres to promote the rainbow children, so he wasn't coining it in as much back then with big paydays and private gigs

if it's exact same hair then it could be top of the pops from 18th november 1999, as the rave dvd was filmed on 18th december 1999 at paisley park but he wore a black top with gold specs/sparkles and a gold chain over the top. his hair was shorter during the emancipation tour

When it comes to earnings...That is one figure. People that are paid, is another figure.

Investments, another figure.

Liquid assets? I don't know. How many Holy River's can Prince buy? And still afford to keep the Love Boat Afloat?

Interesting that they are saying that Paisley Park was never profitable. Since
Alan Leeds said when he left the studio was bringing in 20 million a year.
Since we know numerous acts outside of Prince projects recorded at PP and we know that the rehersal area was also used by other acts it appears that the BBC did not have all the facts.

paisley park didn't operate commercially to other acts for very long, as prince became annoyed that he couldn't use the facilities when he wanted as other people were using them, so he kept it to himself. the place costs a fortune to run and staff. fortunately his ongoing royalty cheques help cover those costs

Yes, it was not a commercial recording studio at first but, he did become one and he made money until he closed it for a while in the late 90's. It just seemed that the documentary missed out on this bit of info.

What about that poor ex pr guy whos been in bed with exhausion ever since prince sacked him. He looks absolutely shattered.

this was one of a whole series of shows about the financial affairs of various "stars" on BBC 3, most of which were like reading The News Of The World on a lazy sunday, i.e. sensation, scandal, sex, money, (obviously), very little substantiation, a lot of lazy journalism, (in other words if they had something they didn't really know about, they just made it up)... but no long words and lots of nice things to look at.
