I prefer the NPG version with the guitar in it. And when Prince does it live like this. Heard a good live version of it from the Astoria.

Too boring, too little development in the harmonies.

This song made me cry on my way to LA for my Uncle's Funeral. that's alls I gotz 2 say.

I was out the other night and we were randomly discussing music in a stupid kinda way - and the inevitable top5 songs came up. Not one but two people said this was one of their favourite songs (citing the Martika version) - to say i was shocked is a little of an understatement. I obviously went on to talk about prince's versions - particualarly his live versions with the NPG. He sang that one with passion -and those damn guitar solos are amazing.

I heard the studio version of this guitar version intended for the Exodus album - but without prince singing. I would looooove to hear a version with him on. Why he never included it on the Gold Experience or even C&D or Emancipation baffles me.

I love the Martika version best.

one of my all-time favorites. it's one of those songs that gives me goosebumps. i love Prince's version and Martika's version. it'd probably like Prince's more if it was in crystal-clear quality.

but anyway, this is a gorgeous song. one of his most heart-felt and believable spiritual lyrics, i think.

This song probably has the most beautiful lyrics Prince has written. It's a tough call, definitely, but I mean... "I see all of your creations as one perfect complex, no more less beautiful or more special than the next." Gives me a shiver every time.

I just heard NPG version ... really great... Prince play it again on stage, please!!!

I was suprised to hear Prince doing this live...in 95. The bootleg is ok too, however the Sonny T version I discredit...
