Around the time of Emancipation, I remember reading reports about P's going under the needle for the symbol tattoo above his ear. This was even on thedawn.com back in the day. Not sure if the tat (as it appears in the Emancipation booklet) is real or just drawn with eyeliner. In either case, I don't remember P sporting it as early as the Gold era though.

i know what you're talking about. there's a really good pic of it in the emancipation liner notes. i have no idea what he was on about with that little hair-don't. it looks like he had his damn skull tattooed, but it could have just been a hairstyling accident and prince was like "OMFG!!! DRAW A SYMBOL ON THE BALD PATCH!! DO IT !! OWWAH!!!" and so it went.
