The solo on the "Scandalous Sex Suite",

The one from Dear Michaelangelo?

Pink Cashmere is fucking ace. It makes me wonder the decision making process of leaving tracks like this unreleased for so long and releasing other tracks that most would agree were 'inferior'.

Raajput

He played it heavily at hes vegas shows.

The solo was replaced by Mike Phillips with a sax solo.

I saw him play this at Wembley Arena in '95 as per the "hits" version with the nice guitar solo

This solo is fantastic, but what's always intrigued me in the interplay between the strings and the guitar. Prince and Clare Fisher never met, so one of them had to play something and send it to the other.

I wonder if Prince composed the solo around Fisher's strings, or vice versa?

No matter what, I do love this song.

^ not entirely sure wink, but i got a "demo" version of the track with keyboards in place of the strings. the strings work better though, love how them and the guitar mesh so well together cloud9

i like the solo in 'The Question of U'.. i think i like the live versions better and i also liked the live guitar solo of him playing 'Purple Rain' on the Syracuse live tape.. when he 1st appeared in that song, i liked that solo in the beginning.... Prince's live version of 'Love' acoustic version is hot too..

I think it would be evident that he composed the guitar solo after hearing the recording of the strings. If I'm wrong I don't give a fuck. Like you said, it's simply fantastic. The interaction is what first caught my attention as well.

I think he played over the strings, too. But it's just incredible to think Fisher could arrange the strings in such a way without hearing a guitar solo. I wonder if Fisher arranged strings for the whole thing, and Prince edited it.

Oh, to be a fly on the wall...

He played around, over and with the strings. It was the first time I ever heard anything like that.

Pink Cashmere is fucking lovely.

I hope if I ever get the chance to see a show (still waiting, Your Highness!) that he does this song. I'd love to hear it live.
