LOVE 4 ONEANOTHER... i'm being objective on that one. NOTHING from post 88 tops those 5 albums. WITHOUT THOSE WORKS PRINCE WOULDN'T BE A LEGEND. all of those albums from prince to sign o' the times kept biulding on his sound and legacy. everyone of those albums had something new and different on them. PRINCE had very very few fillers during that time period. his b-sides blow away his 90s material. from 1989 and up i could name so many filler and half baked songs.....peace!

just accept it that 1979 to 87 was prince's glory years. prince has been rather inconsistant since 1989

PRINCE'S 80's material:
17days, erotic city, nothing compares 2u, all of his b-sides. PRINCE hasn't done anything great since sign o' the times. why do u get annoyed when i crticize the guy. i'm a huge prince fan & music fan who knows what good music is. i've been a fan since 1984. PRINCE's best songs come from 1979 to 88. Prince has had good songs and moments from the 90's. PRINCE fans would rather hear 17days live than 3121. what would u rather hear live signo' the times or 3121? comeon now!!! i would rather hear a classic album life than a flat piece of work that the masses don't care about at all. would u put any songs from 3121 in prince's top50 songs of all time. I do think the man has perfected his craft since because that Prince could not have pulled The Rainbow Children or Xpectation or The Gold Experience...which arent the Grand Progression but good solid work that expresses his love for music. And his live shows now are better than past offers...with more hits too....

My only problem with it is that I would prefer to not have remixes, like Tell Me How U Wanna Be Done, 18 & Over.

Likewise there are a few songs that could have been replaced, such as Poom Poom, Cloreen.

I do agree that Dirty Mind and Sign O' The Times are better than 3121 but kill anything on it? That's a reach.
Prince may be less adventurous but then there's also less ground to cover. He is definitely better now than he was twenty years ago. But Planet Earth shows he can also be lazy when he chooses to.
But you are entitled to what you believe, so you have no argument with me there, just a difference of opinion.

I don´t think he has the balls or the genuine interest to put the old classics up on the shelf where they belong.

Another complaint is that his music for many years now has been too message orientated and less groove orientated.
