Prince's theological monologue from 1999

Right now, I'm listening to Prince's theological monologue which from what i gather was recorded in 1999. Knowing that I can't reveal the website of which i'm streaming this audio, but if anybody knows what I'm talking about can they tell if this is from an album, song, DVD, bootleg? Anything. It's fascinating because all you hear is Prince's voice almost giving a church-like eulogy or sermon about spirituality, politics and in the end it goes into a song about "the universe is me, and i am the universe, and all things come from this song".

One Song

I am the universe
The sun, the moon and sea
I am the energy
4 that is what I believe
I can be contradiction
Cuz that is all I see
But I am the universe
And the universe is me

I am the one song (Ah yes)
And that one song is free
All things come from this one song (Yes they do, uh)
The garden and the tree
If everything, everything is present
What is will always be
This here is the first and the last song
And all that come between

When language falls like a wounded soldier
And it's covered by the sea
All the sadness
All these unanswered questions
Keep me company
(Company, company, company come 2 me, come 2 me please!)
Here at the center of it all
(I know) I know that U can only come from me

(I am the universe)
Yes it will, oh, yes it will (The sun, the moon and sea)
Where else is it gonna come from but me? (I am the universe)
Oh my, my my my my my my my universe (The universe is me)
(I am the universe)
(The sun, the moon and sea)
(I am the universe) (We are the universe) {x2}
(The universe is me)

One truth (One truth)
One song (One song)
One energy

"One Song" was posted on www.love4oneanother.com on December 31, 1999. The video of the song was later made available in the July 2001 edition of the NPGMC. The song was preceded by almost six minutes of sermonizing from prince (the recording is 8:54 minutes with the speech included). His speech has as its general theme the notion that mankind is creating artificial barriers between itself and God, with much of popular culture working to fill the void left by the absence of God from our lives. "One Song" continues the theme of prince's speech, dealing with man's union with God. Having become one with God, prince is "the universe, the sun, the moon and sea." Musically, "One Song" is a slightly run-of-the-mill soul ballad, yet prince's vocal delivery is impassioned and gospel-tinged. The song has a reasonably strong chorus and an anthemic quality, but the music is rather sterile-sounding, with a slick and somewhat lifeless production. [dtt-lyrics.com]

That is beautiful, and certainly the truth. To know that Heaven is right here hiding, is what makes the human race blind. To know that God is among us...rather than away, is 2 know that we suffer as a whole, so that we will reap peace as a whole. cool

it wasn't on the rave album. neither the regular nor the remix album.

i think you've got it confused with "beautiful strange" perhaps?

Snap

"uni verse" was both the end and the beginning of many things
and though Prince wrote it, many people had a hand in it

I always think it is funny to see so-called believers warp the teachings of the new testament and just mereley graps at what was left out to subdue the Western masses.

I am glad i wasn't there.

I don't like dogmatic 'preaching' anyway, and certainly not from the Jehovah Witness-brainwashed Prince around that era.
