I have a couple cassette singles. As far as I know, the cassette single of Thieves in the Temple was the only place where you could get "Part 2" of that song, so the completist in me keeps it. I also have the If I Was Your Girlfriend cassette single and Cream.

Yeah I was wondering that, if there would be any differences with the cassettes ie cover design extra track etc. I mean if you think about it when prince was at his 80s peak this is the format most fans would have heard his music on.

Part 2 of thieves in the temple??? you mean the "put your foot on the rock" part? that's on the CD single.

i have a whole bunch of cassette singles that i was gonna throw out, but my bf saved them from a certain doom. i kept my maxi-cassingles for SOTT and IIWYG because i still think they're cool looking. shrug

No. Part two is an instrumental track that runs about 1:45. It's also on the US 45 and, from what I understand, a Japanese CD single. I have it on the US 45.

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

No, it's just an instrumental portion where he's stripped the vocals out and it's something like 2 minutes long. (I'd have to check when I get home.) When I got it, I was in college and was really broke and a friend of mine kinda yelled at me, "I can't believe you paid $3 for that!" Because, really, it was pretty much a waste, but I had to have it.

in those days, we lived in fear tht the bastid would break & get chewed up by the stereo..
spent ages picking stuff out with small implements etc
the dreaded chewed up noise..
the relief when u just about save it
& take a while winding all the ribbon back in.. lol
i remember i managed 2 repair one once with selotape...not kidding!
was like micro surgery

I HATE cassettes. When I was little, I had a little blue boombox that I'd play my cassettes in. And they always got chewed up sad
All the tape would fly out of it when I rewinded it or something. confused
Playing a cassette tape was a horror, I had to pray every time that it wouldn't get the tape torn out.

As for Prince Cassettes, my dad has emancipation on cassette, which he plays. My brother claims my dad has some more Prince cassettes, but I've never seen them.
If he has the Gold Experience, which he might, I'm stealing that shit.

When I was growing up in the 80's I bought everything on tape. Everything up to Batman. When I got my first CD player I got all of Prince's CD's. I still have some of the tapes lying around. I don't listen to them anymore.

Nice collection. I'd done with cassettes by the time TGE came out, and I don't think I'd seen TGE or C&D on cassette before.

I still have all my cassette singles because I didn't think they'd be worth selling, but I sold all my album cassettes years ago.
