Hawaiian version of nothing compares 2 u

Hi Folks, just wondering. I saw the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall a few days ago. It included nothing compares 2 u in Hawaiian. Anyone heard this before? Artist name and so on?

The movie was OK BTW. But don't go if you get offended by seeing the private parts of Jason Segel.

I didnt think it was a very good film apart from Russel Brand.

Anyway, Prince got three seperate credits at the end of the film. Jungle Love, NC2U (hawaiian) NC2U (sinead oC). Some easy money for him there.

Anyone else know of any films that have given him several credits for a film nothing to do with him?

I just checked the soundtrack album listed at play.com and it has the version on the album credited to FSM Band, but this isn't necessarily the hawaiian version as soundtracks sometimes have alternate versions of songs to the ones that you hear in films.

Prince has also done concerts in Hawaii. Wouldn't it be great if HE has some of his songs in that language? I would faint, it would be so romantic

I remember showing an Ex of mine some of my Prince collection that included european and Japanese pressings.

They asked if Prince sung the songs in those languages. I nearly died!!!!!

I now that some artists produce dual albums when there native language is 'not' English.....

.....but the fact that they seriously considered for a short while that Prince spoke/sung/recorded his music in nearly 10 different languages.....

.....and people in the past have had the cheek to say I'm mental!!!!!

Perhaps Prince is considering a hawaian influence for his next album?

Let's hope not!!!!! confused biggrin lol lol

I did not mean that he would record in that language, but many artist when they perform in another country have sung at least one of they're songs in that native language, it's beeen done onstage here in the U.S. the audiences enjoy it.

Oh Hun, I know! Although I'm quite surprised that he hasn't recorded a song in another language.

He has always had a bit of an obsession with French and Spanish, which are definitely the most suited languages for his ballads!

I wonder if he actually speaks any other languages, or what languages (in part) he has ever been heard using! Hmmmm?

I was afraid of this,
but searching in the org does not seem to work.....
But anyway, it was not intended as news, but as a question.

I don't think so. Why would he? A lot of artists try some words in the language of the country there in (Thank you and so on). Mick Jagger even has a sentence or two. Never heard Prince say : Hallo Nederland, ik ben blij dat ik er weer ben en laten we nu gek gaan....

Au Contrare! Princes 'influences' usually revolve around women, and those Hawaiian Chicks are Saucy with a capital 'S'... wink

"Vous Etre Belle, Mama Girls & Boys"...

seriously though, he usually gets others to do the 'foreign' bits (e.g. Marie France & Mayte).

Actually, I posted it before you, so it was old news when you put it up. Lots of people don't use the search function. biggrin

All of which is totally no big deal. I just wanted to point out to people that search does indeed work. You have to use the Google search at the top right of the page, in the same purple bar that the prince.org logo is in. Don't use the dead search bar that's lower down.

I don't know about several credits, but a cover version of Nasty Girl is featured quite prominently in "Dan in Real Life."
