first post for me but i had 2 say something here.. as much as i love Michael Jackson's Thriller, its REALLY refreshing 2 c a "top 10 albums of the last 25 years" without it! especially after 'Thriller25' made it almost a necessity 2 do so... anyways, GO PRINCE

Since "Thriller" was released in 82, and their list is from, 83-2007, i'm sure EW would have chosen that as their #1,since the list seems to be based more on their hype of the last 25 yrs.

I think the EW-list is about (100) albums that have helped to shape and define the music of the last 25 years, and it that sense it gives quite a good idea about the music from that period i think.

That also explains why sometimes not 'the best' albums from certain artists are included. I mean, i think most Radiohead-fans will surely rate OK Computer, higher then in Rainbows, right?

Well, Anxiety, i guess EW was going for some kind of 'hipster' list: They probably thought, hey, everyone chooses OK Computer, why not go for "In rainbows" instead?

I mean, Kayne West and Jay Z... In terms of musical impact, shouldnt Public Enemy be above them?

And what is Lauryn Hill doing on that nr. 2 spot? what about Bjorks Homogenic or Vespertine?

Just a few examples to illustrate EW are probably going for the 'hipness' here.

Nothing against Mr. Rodgers but.... There's a lot of not so great albums on that list. Purple Rain deserves it's place. Obviously not of his other albums were considered....Sign O The Times??? I personally love Chaos Disorder. All of em should be on this list.
