My personal fave on the album is "The Future", I love it when Prince gets a little dark and shows his balls, (metaphorically speaking!)

And I notice a couple of posts mentioning people going "crazy" in cinemas... is this normal in the US? In England if you make unnecassary noise you either get thrown out or get a smack in the face!

lol

"The Future" contains one of the most shockingly prophetic lines I think I have ever heard:

"Yellow smiley offers me X,
Like he's drinking 7-up"

I don't know if it was intentionally done (I don't know how it could be possible), but "yellow smiley" could be someone jacked up on ecstacy = "X"

It amazes me every time I hear it.

Prophetic, how?

Ecstacy had been around for some time by this point.

he's proabably joking around but he thinks ecstacy was going to hit the plateua in later years..when Prince wrote about it and supposedly took it, it had already been around and the rave seen was already at a peak elsewhere...Europe etc...as a gay cousin used to say...LATE!

Just did the other day - digged out some old tapes for the car - it's great - apart from Arms of Orion- Sheena may be a fellow Scot but...

Also listened to his 1st album 'For You' - forgot how good it is very singer songwriter - Joni Mitchellesque. Although the last song 'I'm Yours' has a huge geeetar solo!!! rawk!!! + 1 of the best double stop bend scream on the guitar I have ever heard!
