DonnaBelle	Scandalous is definitely one of my favorite "getting in the mood" songs. I listen to Batman for that and Vicki Waiting.

It is deeper than that..you are one of the very very few who "gets" and "feels" the 1999 album and you have a keen sensibility about you. Most anyone else I could care less...I must at least get you to see and feel "Baby Im A Star" and why its leagues ahead of Trust ..its a sin not to.

Don't get me wrong- I love both songs. I have no issues with "Baby, I'm A Star" at all. I just love "Trust" as well. biggrin

It's just one of those cd's that I haven't gotten around to replacing. In years, as a matter of fact. If I had considered it a top tier album I would have replaced it years ago. But it's one of those albums that can wait since I have a lot of them to replace.

Batman is the bomb! The Future, Electric Chair, Partyman, Vicki Waiting, Lemon Crush, Scandalous, Batdance and 200 Balloons are great songs and you are lying if you say you don't like them. The outtakes, Dance With The Devil, Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic, and Me Touch Myself are funky too.

Natasha	Are you Kidding Me? For a Movie Soundtrack album Batman is Great. It Definitely should have won over Stupid Crap Danny Elfman's Shit Album. Mr Oingo Boingo is making Scores for movies. I play it All the Time. It's an Exciting Album.

was there a grammy for best Batman soundtrack album?

I love both albums. Both have a completely different goal. Prince is the song-oriented one, Elfman is the 'real' score.
Prince's Batman is a funky and coherent album with some great songs and some ok ones.
Elfman's Batman is a fantastic moviescore. I love Elfman's scores, especially those of the late 80s/early 90s.

Glad to see people giving 'Batman' props!
People write-off this album too quickly. Okay, it may not be his BEST effort (IMO) but it's VERY 'Prince' - funky, quirky, playful. Probably his most playful project. I love it!

I still love the Batman soundtrack,but then it was the first of his albums I ever heard so its got a special place in my heart (awww).Yes hes made better before and since,and yes theres nothing innovative on there per se (though I still think Batdance is waaay ahead of its time ) but the sheer fun and joy in a lot of the tracks makes it well worth repeated listening for my ears smile

"The Future" contains one of the most shockingly prophetic lines I think I have ever heard:

"Yellow smiley offers me X,
Like he's drinking 7-up"

I don't know if it was intentionally done (I don't know how it could be possible), but "yellow smiley" could be someone jacked up on ecstacy = "X"

It amazes me every time I hear it.
