I'm curious....does he mean that she shouldn't give attention to those that do not deserve her attention and/or graces?

Are the pearls his songs? He sings to serenade, but the woman doesn't"hear" them/him?

As I re-read, I cant help but wonder if the song is a reference to his differences with Warner Bros. -- the reference to pearls being his music. And being resistant to bringing forth "pearls" or beautiful music to be wasted amongnst the swine (WB)?

I think it's a song about insecurity and love that's over, and time to move on. SO sad and pretty.

It's about fans that have turned on him.

I have never heard the song, although I like the lyrix posted...People tend to be that way...although, those of us that are strong in our faith...don't mind casting pearls....If it turns them away slowly but surely from their selfish ways.

Many people that have fought for a worthy cause have been munipulated, slandered, or killed for the sake of "One Love." There isn't any better road to be taken advantage of, on....Prince had several roads before him...and Prince chose the road with the highest risk, a rough road, with many hurdles to overcome, and if that long street is called anything..."A beautiful Spirit." would be a nice name, to trace, Prince's open heart.

it's a beautiful song me and my daughter, had a soft dance routine we did togather off this song... and it was very nice most praise dance movement & modern dance.....

I think this song was outstandingly written and performed..wonderful images and very touching sound.
It's one of those songs that makes you stop everything when you hear it!

Love the lyrics, the music and vocals are like magic.

If you've not heard this song before, track it down at all cost. That's my opinion.
