Jesse Johnson is damn good but Prince is better on the Axe than Jesse. The people who made this list obviously don't know that Prince plays all the Time guitar parts and live head-to-head Prince would get him.

they knew...look at their comments....
Jesse Johnson (The Time)
These days, most people know that the guitar player on the first two Time albums was actually Prince. Their third, Ice Cream Castle, however not only features their biggest hit (Jungle Love), but also some of the best guitar playing in the groups history. The underrated successor Pandemonium is also full of tasty guitar playing. Johnson later went on to solo semi-fame.

Yeah, well I know that Prince playing on My Drawers and I also have the studio version of The Bird and Prince's version of Ice Cream Castle. The 3rd album is all Prince. Don't be fooled.

Nile Rodgers should be Top 10 and Eddie Hazel should be Top three. Eddie's one of the only guitarists that I'd turn down Prince OR Jesse to listen to.

And anyone doubting Jesse's chops needs to find a copy of Bare My Naked Soul. The guitar on that album is blistering, even if Jesse's not much for lyrics much of the time.

1. Cropper
2. Nolen
3. Hazel
4. Prince
5. Sugarfoot
6. Mayfield
7. Jimi
8. Jesse
9. Catfish
10. Rodgers

Why is Roger Troutman on the list? I thought he played keyboards (unless he played guitar in the sudio).

This is a good list, but I thought Nile should definitely be in the top 10.
