You claim in your video that it is right for Prince to punish people who profit off of his work, but it is not right to punish Youtube or people who post free videos on Youtube.

You are a moron and I'll simply tell you why -

You did not think your statement through before make that outrageous video. Nothing in life is free, my friend. Youtube is a BUSINESS. The owners of Youtube do not run and operate Youtube for free or for their health.

The posting of COPYWRITTEN videos on Youtube ultimately generates PROFIT for the owners and shareholders of Youtube. Sure, it is free for the user and viewer to use the website. But you can damn well be sure that Youtube is generating income through advertising sales and God knows what else.

In this income-generating process Prince, the original creator of the "product" in question, sees no share of this income.

Sure, you can argue that it is good exposure for him and he creates profit by gaining extra fans by selling more concert tickets. But what gives the owners of Youtube the right to profit off of his work?

Youtube profits exactly how a bootlegger selling boot CDs at a flea market does. Sure, those flea market CD might give him a little more exposure to the flea market crowd, but he is still left out of the equation.

If he should punish the flea market bootleggers, like you say in your video, then he should just as well punish the owners of Youtube. It's exactly the same.
