I think prince should work with quincy jones Having just watched a documentary last night on bbc4 about quincy I never realised what a genius the guy is. I mean hes worked with some of the greatest stars of all time and look what he did with MJ gave him the biggest selling album ever. Imagine what would happen if he and prince put there brains together although I dont think it will ever happen as prince is to much of an arrogant MF to work with quincy. I wouldn't mind if Quincy were invovled with a Prince project. Another name I mention a lot is Herbie Hancock. Both guys are probably more musicly educated than Prince though. He might not like recording with a couple of true giants in the room.

But maybe Prince is just what he is and who he is in his art which is a very subjective art and having others handling what is yours' would be a dissatisfying affair for Prince. Who knows what would actually happen if they came in and worked with Prince. It could be a masterpiece or just as some of the same people who prayed for new collaborations(sp) with Wendy and Lisa but then they got Planet Earth which is strangely hated by some of those same people so whose to say what would happen. Would I like to see these events occur? Not sure because I think Prince is very focused on what he and he alone wants to make and that would not happen if he had all those additional hands in the cooking process but it would be interesting sight to see.

Yes but thats a very sad state of affairs because what he is making isnt very good and to me his albums have become stagnent and when this happens you really need to work with new people and wheather you like it or not two minds are better than one even if one of the minds is prince. That is still just your opinion which I disagree with respectfully.

It's about creative expression, I guess. I read somewhere from his sister's page where she said when asked why she doesn't work her brother, that it's because he's so very helpful and willing that he would take over and it would become his art, and not her's - and would thus lose her creative expression which she wanted to opportunity to express. I'm sure he might feel the same way about his creative expression. (of course, in my opinion)

Prince and Quincy should just stay their seperate ways....especially after Quincy tried to suck on Princes lollipop, that would be one weird convo about their past! surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water

When they were onstage for a We are the world anniversary Prince was onstage and he had a lollipop and wasn't singing along with the rest. Prince motioned his sucker in Q's direction and he acted as though he was going to put it in his mouth which Prince quickly took it away at the last second which was really funny and nasty all at the same time.

I don't think Prince feels his music is stagnant.
We only hear what he chooses to release which is not necessarily an accurate reflection of much. I can't see Prince working with either Quincy or Hancock. They would just get in his way. Prince is not working 9-5 either. Which isn't going to work for Q or Hancock that there would be no set hours. Can you imagine recording tracks and then Prince spends all night re-recording parts and mixing it? Leave Prince alone and stop thinking that he would somehow be better if he worked like everyone else. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

i wouldn't really like it if P Worked with Quincy and I Think hed lose a bit of respect i could imagine the headlines "Prince Goes To Ex-Jacko Collaberator For Help On His New Album" hmmmmm.....no i wouldnt like it, I Prefer P's Music to come from inside his own mind without the help of others [Edited 6/14/08 10:38am] Everybody's looking 4 the ladder

He had his chance with We Are the World and didn't take it... and I think they'd both be about 20 years too late for a collaboration now. All those who believe in telekinetics, raise my hand...

Me too, if the only other option is to team him up with another past-his-prime producer.

The most they need to do together is grab a couple of hot 19 year olds and hit the town.

Quincy and Prince do not like each other, they might respect each other's work as artist but they do not like each other.

i was reading a book that had this quote from prince when it concerns a producer, a producer comes in and tells the artist how 2 do this and how 2 do that leaving the artist just a clone of the producer.
think about that 4 a 2nd when u hear lil john, timberland whoever the hottest "producer" is at the time. it's like they can just slide another artist in2 the booth, but it all still sounds the same making the artist just a tool. this is and will never b prince's side because of his musicianship and passion 4 being a artist. so whether the music being put out is good or bad, at least it's still 100% prince man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Prince needs to get his stuff together before he collaborates with anyone . His live work is exceptional , his CD output has been lucklustre and inconsistant for several years , I still cant help love him tho
