Has any body else noticed that during the track 'Insaitiable', prince sings "turn the lights off, STRIKE a candle"

now, i always thought that its a match that you strike in order to light the candle.

i heard that P and his date for that evening were striking that candle againts the wall all evening in an attempt to light it. However, without any success from their efforts, they both decided to turn the lights back up and watch television instead.

WRONG! read matthew ch. 3. jesus is in the wilderness and satan tempts him. one of the things he tries to get jesus to do is change stone to bread, but jesus refuses, quoting scripture back to satan:
man does not live on bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of god.
i hope prince knows his bible a little bit better by now

As for the "strike a candle," yeah, that drives me kind of crazy too. There are a bunch of others too, that I can't think of right here. But all is forgiven, for obvious reasons.

FMS, he has changed the lyrics this year while performign it in concert, stating the he was wrong and that man could not live on bread alone.

So you are right and he has since changed the lyric.
