Prince Dublin concert is officially cancelled My friend works for Croke Park. She told me the concert was cancelled. I phoned the venue and they confirmed that the gig is cancelled. Also, MCD will make a statement today to confirm. I was also told that refunds will be available from ticketmaster on Friday 13 June.
This is not a rumour, its true. I'm gutted.

It will practically be a different tour - which is not a bad thing I suppose! From the offset, I did think a 1 off random show was a bit of a strange decision - but I never thought it would ever get cancelled!!! Life's a Parade! LoveLife, LoveSexy!

I'm wondering how many people who have booked flights and hotels are still gonna travel over for the day or weekend! There is still a possibility of an Org/Fan/Fam invasion!!! I hope he comes out with a Killer new album this year, with a full world tour next year covering Europe, America AND Australia especially for prb and Chilli! Life's a Parade! LoveLife, LoveSexy!

While plans are underway to try and reschedule the concert for 2009, no details are confirmed at this stage thus ticket holders can obtain a full ticket refund. Customers who purchased their tickets from an outlet can obtain a refund by returning their tickets to the point of purchase. If you have purchased your tickets via phone or Internet, you must return your tickets via a secure method of post to: Ticketmaster Head Office, Grafton House, 70 Grafton Street, Dublin 2. Prince's Croke Park concert cancelled
http://www.ireland.com/ne...tml?via=me Over 55,000 fans will be disappointed today after the upcoming Dublin concert by US pop star Prince was cancelled. The concert was due to be held at Croke Park on Monday June 16th. Promoters MCD accounced that "due to reasons beyond the control" of both Prince and MCD, the concert would not go ahead and the 55,161 ticket holders will be fully refunded. Tickets ranged in price from €66.50 to €125.50, excluding handling fees. The gig had been billed as a greatest hits tour and his last ever trip to Ireland. The star sold out a 21-night run at London's 20,000 capacity 02 Arena last year. MCD said plans are under way to reschedule the concert for next year. MCD had applied for a licence to stage the event, as the stadium has planning permission for only three concerts a year. It has already hosted concerts by Celine Dion and Westlife, while Neil Diamond is due to play on Saturday. A Dublin City Council spokeswoman said the licence was granted last Friday [Edited 6/10/08 6:10am]

That means Prince has been on hold for quite some time and to learn only 1 week before the event, I would have cancelled too. Lemme
