i want him to play the guitar like he's never played it before.....all the songs be rock/funk!

I want to be surprised.

Lock himself in the studio and play everything himself (with no help from anyone else).

The good songs allow me to look past the shit songs and dig the album, unlike a couple of his other albums (I won't say which becuase Orgers will track me down and kill my dog or something )

OF COURSE. i saw the days of wild cover band in the city, on his b-day, they turned days of wild in2 a slow jam! it was horrible. erotic city had that thumping drums & that heavy bass! let's work had that same vibe with the pass. she's always in my hair had that driving drum beats. i want music were i can roll the windows down and funk out 2!

and i'm sorry u wasted ur money on saturday

they only preformed 9 songs in almost 2hours. they would sing one verse and then jam 4 20minutes. that's the problem i have with prince sometimes. i sometimes want full versions of 5 straight songs then stuck jamming on one song 4 2 long.

i notice that alot of people want him to bring back an older style or to sonform...
I am going the other way....
he's older, know's music and can get away with whatever he wants, so...

I would love to get an experimental album from him.. something totally weird.
Like a concept album where he only uses one instrument on each track, or just his voice for percussion. I know his experimental side comes out, (ATWIAD and dove's cry) but I would like to see him do whole albums like this. Strip the music down... take out the brass and do it himself.

It's a bit of an unusual comparison, but I would like to see him produce work in a smilar way to Tom Waits who does things like recording in his bathroom b/c the acoustics are interesting or using a megaphone to sing through.

Otherwise, I think a blues album would totally work for him, especially at his age... he can be super sexy and just sit in his chair (to spare his hip).

Keep the live drums by Cora or Prince -- unless he's doing a track with some throwback Linn programming. Keep slappin' that bass. (But think about bringing back Rhonda for a track or two. She bad. )

Less weird New Age mumbo-jumbo on the tracks. Prince seems loath to do traditional, Bible-based gospel tracks. I'd prefer his lyrics not toy with symbolism and mix meanings.

I thought 3121 had superior songs to Planet Earth's, though I thought the latter were far better produced (parts of 3121 are just plain cringe-inducing, IMO). If he could find a way to have killer songs with awesome production (live band, even), That said, more Wendy & Lisa.

Typically, the level of growth and progress I'd like to see in a Prince album doesn't happen unless he's "trying" for something new. Best examples of this I can see are on TRC and the Truth -- projects where he tried for something different. He coasted on 3121, most of the time, and only improved moderately with Planet Earth.

One more thing: Never, ever again have a three-song stretch like FBM/MR.GN/ATM. Those 3 songs are horrible. Can't believe he won a Grammy for one...

I wouldn't mind seeing Prince do a project of songs for another film (like was rumored, a few years ago). Maybe a tribute/covers album (if only he could resist the urge to change folks' words).

I'd like to hear the musical complexity of TRC with the no-nonsense approach of the last three albums (ie no "concept" to ruin perfectly good songs.)
