Prince effects

First off, new to the forum so hello to everyone.

Question is, does anyone know what guitar effects he has used throughout the years?

I think he mainly uses Boss pedals these days. Im curious to know.

Also hoping to track down one of those hohner telecasters soon!

I am a guitarist myself, so I'd be curious to know, too.

For example, does he use effects processors at all or just individual BOSS pedals?

In some respects a good processor is an all-in-one device that can do everything a bunch of pedals together can do. But on the other hand, there is also something to be said of using individual pedals...

I'd like to know personally to help me decide what to invest in myself: a bunch of pedals or one fancy processor?

hopefully someone can help us.

At present i know he uses individual boss pedals, boss distortion, Blues driver, flanger and a few others. He uses another couple of non boss units, ofcourse we all know he also uses a Wah pedal.

I could have dreamed it but I thought there was a guitar player magazine in which he was on the cover. There was a short list of gear used at that time. (like 2000 plus or minus 3 years). I would love to have a list of gear (especially keys) known to be used by P over the years with ref, to songs they appear on.

about 6 months ago there was one on eBay that was nearly identical to P's and was from the same era serial numbers from same run. You will need a VERY good tech to modify to P specs. For an alternate I would suggest a Rickenbacker 330/360.

He has a very modest taste in effects for such a big starlet. (Boss / Behringer(!?) - altough the age-old Zoom 9030 takes the cake)

When I saw him in '06 he was actually using a Bass Crybaby Wah pedal. It gives him a good low end with his Wah sound..
cool

there is a part on Live in Vegas were you can see his pedals i think its when he acts like his guitar is dying and lays it on the ground by them and this pic looks like the set up
The energy in this field's been known to flicker lights, aight

Asong with no name, acapella moans and a bridge of silence

Undeterred nevertheless a masterpiece on butterscotch thighs

Turn off the lights, turn off the lights

Wouldn't surprise me if he uses a basss wah-wah, that's what I use on my guitar... the sweep don't go too intrusively high....

Always been a lover of the Boss Flanger pedal (I used to put my Linn sample-loaded sampler thru it back in the day) but would love 2 get my hands on a Blues Driver for my guitar and an OC-2 Octave mainly for my Bass.

Talking of basses, have you got your acoustic bass yet?
