In the Crystal Ball liner notes Prince tells us songs like this one sprung from jam sessions where he (on bass or whatever) and Morris on drums would just adlib whatever came into them.

So he may have re-recorded the drum or he may not... it is not clear. But as Irresistible Bitch had been recorded before as part of a medley with an early version of Feel U Up, I think this is Prince. It has the drum computer sounds of that time and the kind of weird breaks as he used on Alexa De Paris and God Instrumental.

Lots of this is common knowledge, like the liner notes of The Hits/The B-Sides and Crystal Ball. And of course Uptown's The Vault, knowledgeable people like Brisfishpaw and reading loads of articles.
And there is someone here that has access to the not yet released book with recording information, which tells us when and where songs were recorded and who participated.

Nice tidbits from the CB liner notes shows us that Prince does not always delve from his own experience when writing lyrics (2morrow) and the Hits liner notes teaches us Prince likes to record religious songs on Sundays.

No. Tricky (a The Time b-side) shares the same drumtrack with Cloreen Baconskin. Irresistible Bitch seems to be re-recorded anew; new drums, new everything. I think he might have gotten the spirit because of the hot backing vocals; the first released Wendy Melvoin contribution to Prince's music.
