It's funny. I remember when Tevin released his version. The line, "I rather do you after school, like some homework", always made me laugh. This is one song of Prince that I am glad he released his own version of.

yay. love this one. back when the gold experience was released i considered
this and we march to be somewhat weird and didn't like them as much but the
passing of time made it one of my favs.

i was very happy when prince revived it 1st for the tokyo harbour fest and
included it in his live sets many times after.

does anyone know if there's a full version floating around of the newly
recorded "shhh" from which a part was included in the Versace 2006 show?
not fishing for a bootleg, i don't even know where or how i would be able
to get it, i just want to know if a full version is out there.

My favorite versions of this great song are the one off of that Beautiful Experience TV film because it is, in some way, the "original" version, and of course the 1994 at the Palladium/ NYC version, where at the end he says " New York, all women are beautiful ! Love your women." or something like that. Those versions simply rock the hardest and he doesn´t really omit to many lyrics like he´d later do.
As much as I love the song though, I do find it a bit creepy when a man of his age sings " I wanna do you after school like some homework ."
Strange that he leaves out a lot of lyrics or changes them but keeps this line intact, of all lyrics to censor.

I was working in a children's home a few years ago and there was this young (very sexy, very good looking man, with a fantastic body ~ but at least 20 years younger than me) who one night decided to walk me to my car. When I started my car this song was playing on the cd so he decided to take my hand and serenade me with Shhh. I started laughing (couldn't help it! I have a son his age!) and he started pouting. "Ms. B, here I am trying to get all sexy with you and serenading you with none other than Prince and you are laughing." I gotta admit, if I was a little younger and wasn't involved, I probably wouldn't have laughed.
