The thing I like most about P is when he gets political on his songs stating his opinion. Yes I know he doesn't have a large repotoire of these songs but the ones he does you just have to love and cherish. There are artists out there that are just political like John Mellencamp but he isn't funky like Prince. I don't have to list every song he's done on this subject because you all know them but I will mention probably some of the most popular ones. Like: Sign'O'The Times, Money Don't Matter 2 Night, America, and Party Up.Of course my 2 faves are Sign and Party Up. So go on P! Keep doing what you're doing and don't let nobody try to change you or your music.

Amen...Prince is beautiful doing whatever He can to express himself....I love it all.

I like that too. Prince always keeps it real in his songs. Well, of course he likes to use his imagination. But when it comes to addressing socio-political issues he definitely lets us know what time it is.


My personal favorite is "Annie Christian". Besides the obvious New Wave sound that fulfills my fetish, it also addressed some issues that were going on at that time. This was before Rap music. He might've been criticized for it, but it showed that his songwriting had some depth and dimension. He didn't just wanna get you horny, he made you think too.
