Thank you.
No...I mean that sincerely...thank you. If I wanted to buy an album that sounded like the previous 2, I'd go and buy Whitney Houston's catalog.

Maybe because it was a while since he covered that ground of funk and pop that people appreciated it.

I know I apppreciated it. It was FUNKY and I LOVED it. 3121 ROCKS AND WHAT?! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I like 3121, its a straight forward, decent Album. It's the best of the most recent three. (To some that might not be saying alot. )

I concur it is a fantastic album with songs that I simply love. Maybe not to your liking but it suits me just fine because I love a good groove and the title track when it was on 3121 website from a Vegas show it was soooo funky that it made me almost forget the cd version. I wish that he would have released that version for purchase. Too funky for these ears but love the groove just the same.

That was cool. | |

3121 was so uninspired on almost every level.
Lolita is trying to bring the old-skool funk but just sounds like a failed attempt at re-creating the magic of The Time. Black Sweat is grossly over-rated around these parts. Okay, the linn-drum pattern is kinda cool, but the actual song sucks. There is no funk there. Not even some decent bass work. Get On The Boat and Incest & Cuddles are two of the worst songs he's ever officially released. The only remotely interesting tracks are Fury (which was later realised more fully with the superior Guitar) and The Word. Planet Earth and Musicology are both better.
