Prince, Purple Music on piano.

Heard this for the first time. Wasnt this on some piano boot? Prince in the studio fiddling around with Purple Music on piano. Playing really decent keyboards. My only problem is, why doesn't he play more like this live? He either lets Renato solo or plays simple chords. I told people at a keyboard forum that he was a good player and they laughed at me.lol.

Prince thinks nobody talks behind his back, he is wrong. The man has to let loose those chops, show the musicheads who is boss.

Thay laughed at you?? That's insane. They must have crap in their ears. I love P's keyboard work. Probably more than his guitar playing.

More Intimate Moments.....its a decent boot.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

I'd love to make myself a perfect compilation CD of songs with great Prince keyboard work.

The problem is I am not always sure if it's Prince on the keys. Usually I can tell someone playing style, for example Renato has a unique style, but not always.

On this list would be some of the great synth solos from the Time's first album. It's been said that Prince did all the instruments, but who REALLY knows for sure...

Another example is the prince album. Who knows which songs Prince is playing keys on... or Barbarella... or even maybe Mr. Hayes... You just never know.

For years I thought Prince did the great guitar solo on Fascination. When I found out it was done by Mike Scott I got pissed. Play your own fucking solos Prince.

Muido, Prince needs more musician respect. Loud guitar rock just doesn't do that.

Prince KNOWS everybody talks behind his back, people alawys have and he brings
it up in his songs. I've been to many a Prince concert and when he slows things down for too long the audience gets quite, and things get boring and he knows it, so he's gotta keep the party moving.

The Inimate Moments boot is the shit. I love it. it has 17 Days, an early verion of Strange Relationship, A Case Of U, Purple Rain, Wednesday and more. I love when Prince sings Mary Don't U Weep. He sings the hell out of it.

Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

In my opinion, Prince is a better pianist than a guitarist. People laugh at me when I say this too(except on the org), but he is truly a gifted musician which jumps out at you when he plays keyboards.

Listen to songs like Condition Of The Heart, Lady Cab Driver, When The Lights Go Down and The Dance and you will be familiar with his playing style. It's a mix between jazz, pop and classical. It is very distinctive and hard to mistake.

I have great memories of this track.

I was on a bus headed from Edinburgh to London - on my way to catch my final flight home to Australia after living in the UK for 15 months. So I was feeling a bit down and tired as hell. A fellow Prince fan had burnt me this disc a few days earlier. I was half asleep on the bus listening to this track with my headphones on.

At first it didn't seem like anything special - just Prince noodling around on the piano. But slowly and surely the song started to morph into something that sounded quite familiar... It suddenly hit me - "Holy Sugar - He's playing Purple Music!!". And not only that, this boot actually captures Prince in the process of working the song out from scratch! Such a rare insight. It was definately a goose-bump moment! Next thing I knew I was wide awake and groovin' like a mad man!

So every time I hear this I'm reminded of time in the UK. I love the way music can do that - put you in another space and time altogether.
