will PRINCE ever do a full fledged rock album?

PRINCE has been stuck in the r&b. ballad, and pop mode for awhile now. in concert, he constantly does sly and the family stone cover songs. i wish he would do an album with just guitar, bass, and drums. prince did that with the undertaker project which was never offically released. i feel alot of fams here want him to kick some fucking ass and rock out!

again with this rock fledged album ..understand that he is a funk artist first and 4most ..if u want him 2 do a rock album, he's been there done that and it's called chaos and disorder. and the last time he did a mostly rock/pop album we got that crap called planet earth.

if u don't like funk then i'm sorry that's what prince's music is really comprised off, dance grooves.
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Didn't we talk about this before? hmm And yes, he really should do one. But I don't think he will since his music is all over the place. But the closest we've gotten to Rock albums were Purple Rain, Chaos and Disorder, and Planet Earth. All of which are great, by the way! thumbs up!

No, genius. Prince is a musician that PLAYS funk and rock, and whatever else he likes to do. There's a difference. And I will defend to the death the importance of "Planet Earth" and "Chaos and Disorder" for they are underrated gems.

Never.

Prince isn't a rock artist. He isn't an R&B artist, he isn't a funk artist, either.

He's a musician!!!

He'll never make an album that fits in one box like that!!!

All of his albums will have some Rock stuff, some Soul/R&B stuff, and some Funky Stuff!!!

so i'll stop asking 4 a full fledged funk album big grin

i want prince to write music from his anger again. in his glory years, you could feel the pain in his bellowing screams. songs like the beautiful ones and darling nikki were from his heart and soul. there was no plastic production nonsense in the way those songs were produced and arranged.

LMFAO, Rusty I wrote a nice post on your 80´s thread, but the thread was shut before I could post it, which reminded me that, Bowie would probably not be a legend without his 70´s music cool

i agree that he just isn't a funk artist, but he's also not just a artist with a guitar that needs 2 rock everything out everytime 4 over an hour.
