Shockadelica and Housequake

Ever notice that these two songs have the exact same drum pattern? Check it out. Its clear Prince must have had that drum track lying around and then used twice. And both songs sung by "Camille".

Love both songs.
the music knows what your motives are when you are making it

listen to The Replacements - its good for the soul

You ever notice how the snare drum in almost all Prince's songs hit on the 2 and 4? I think Prince is onto something here...
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

I think it was more about P just digging the beat and he wanted a ceratin continuity flowing through this Camille album. Pity he didn't release Camille. I haven't heard a weak track that was tied to that concept. Shockadelica is one of my all time favorite cuts by P. The song is bangin'. Period. And to think he got it from the title of a Jesse Johnson album.

Back in the day the word was that Jesse stole it from Prince. I can't recall which was released first - Prince's "Shockadelica" or Jesse's album of the same name.

Nah, P thought it was such a great title but Jesse didn't have a song called that so he came out with the song. Jesse had already released the album before P came out with the song.

Prince's shockadelica actually aired first, on the radio, before Jesse's album came out.

But that was just Prince being a prick making out it was his title. He knew Jesse had already called his album Shockadelica.
