No1 Purple Rain (1984) For Prince you could see it was an extension of his ego and of his brand. It was just scary how good it was. There are so many set pieces in the film that blow your mind. When doves cry, is a big favourite of mine, is easily one of the greatest songs of all time. All of the tracks from this soundtrack have featured in my record bag at some point. I think when doves cry is actually still in there. | |

Really though, can someone name a better soundtrack?
Graffiti Bridge is a great soundtrack but I know Parade fans will argue with that. Saturday Night Fever is not as good as Purple Rain or Graffiti Bridge although it certainly sold more. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. | |
