My first Prince concert. May 6, 1990. St Paul MN. I would have to dig out my ticket but I think the price was $10. I remember he asked "Do you wanna hear a new song?" Of course we did and he played A Question Of U. I was in the seventh row and took a few pics. Even snapped one during Partyman at the point when they say "Ladies and gentalmen, no pictures please" I often wonder if he saw my flash. Shut up already...Damn

I dream about a horn-less Prince album. I do not think he can... CrozzaUK said: Nothing Compares 2 U was amazing and the definite highlight of the tour.
I hated it when he just started playing it becuz it was a hit. Even though it was a hit, I always thought the song was lame in any version he did and he never topped Sinead's version in my eyes/ears. I hate it is still on his roster to play. It bores me to smithereens.

'Nudity' is a good bootleg to seek out, soundboard rehearsal. things going wrong, Prince clowning and telling people off when drum machines break down. good stuff.

Of course, Sinead's version has got more soul in it's little pinkie than all of Prince's and The family's version combined. Hehehe. It has got the scope and depth and emotion that Prince's version lacked and talking about The Hits 1 version; having Rosie on that does not help. I must admit that even though Rosie seems a nice lady, her vocal range just grates me.

Prince's version is kitsch, but this version he played on the Nude tour was completely different to how he performs it now, or even to how he performed it on the D&P tour. I agree Sineads is by far and away the best version - but the Nude tour version had something that he's never managed to capture since. Is there any video footage around of him performing it on this tour?

I still think the Nude tour version is the only one he's done that doesnt venture into this territory, and is closer to Sineads version. He actually sings it with emotion on this tour too.

It never was soul. It's pop. I am still amazed about the attraction of these songs (like Diamond Adn Pearls) to the masses. Oh wait a minute, I do.

Birmingham, UK show was my first Prince concert having missed out on the Lovesexy tour due to illness. Fantastic show, i agree that Rosie was an amazing add to the band and the whole show was so tight!! Thieves in the Temple exclusive video shown before concert and i think Mavis Staples supported. AND ON THE 7TH DAY OF THE 6TH MONTH..GOD CREATED FUNK!!!

On the "Hits" version she does a great job. No over singing or screaming which is usually the excuse "RnB haters ' have about their dislike of RnB music. This is not my opinion Sinead O'Conner has not one bit of soul or emotion on her version of "Nothing Compares To You" In addtion, I like Sinead O' Conner and I listen to all types of music so I am not just RnB fan who knows nothing else. She does not convey any soul on this cut. Which is fine because I think the whole idea was to get her a hit record that the masses would like and the masses like souless music these days. I went to the show when I was in London 1990. Mavis Staples opened (if U dont have her "Time Waits for No One" cd...u betta get it!!!). The show consisted primarily of Graffiti Bridge and Batman songs with few old ones thrown in. Cant remember the length, time wise.

I went to two of the shows,
the highlight for me was a 'question of u' - Graffiti Bridge hadn't been released so it was the first live airing of this tracks, and to hear that guitar solo was bliss! He played bambi at the Birmingham show too, which i wasn't expecting... at the wembley show i went to when he played purple rain it broke down in the middle to just synth strings and Prince kept repeating the words 'live 4 love' and then kicked back into purple rain...again, it was before live 4 love had been released. I really enjoyed it, but all in all i've enjoyed subsequent tours more (i know people who think differently though - just my personal opinion) the thieves in the temple video was really cool to see too...again a new track at the time the japanese tokyo dome show is worth watching if you get a chance...though the tracks were edited into a different order for some reason it was cool to hear nothing compares 2 u...but for me one or two of the performances of this at last years o2 shows were exceptional...i went to 9 of the main shows, and on a couple of occasions he really nailed the tune...gave me goosebumps
