Around the World in a Day (song) appreciation

I know there are some who hate on this era of Prince (1985-1986), but of all the songs that were not mainstream pop hits, this one is a great tune.

I was listening to it and really dig the world vibe (instrumentation) it has going on with it. Any one else feeling this song?

been feeling the whole album 4 2 weeks (well, most of it anyway)

it was def a 180 degree turn after PR IMO.

But thats Prince- never one to do whats "expected" and thats why we love him woot!
seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before music beret

It was a balls move by Prince at a time he could have gone the funk rock route and coasted for the rest of the decade.

I love the song. It took a while for it to grow on me, but it definitely did.

By the way, I think it is the first example of Prince referring to all the songs on an album in one song (which he likes to do a lot; you know how he does "It's thunder when I'm on the mic/Daddy pop's in the house..." and others on different albums). This whole song is an introductory guide to the album you're about to listen to, even if he doesn't name-check the songs the way he eventually would.

Wonderwall

I have been listening to this album, and this song in particular a lot lately. I dug this album so much back in the day...love the whole vibe. Immediately gets me in a good mood.

I love "Around the World in a Day." Especially "Paisley Park," How beautifully sincere, I am sure that is why Prince named his studio's after this song of forgiveness.

Yes, I love that song. But I love the unreleased version on The Work better.
