I wouldnt call it bitter,

its an easy word to use.

I'd say it was justified indignation.

Sometimes that emotion is the right one

when you're dealing with evil.

I really don't know as much as I should about the entire situation but from what I understand Prince DID sign a contract, then wanted to get out of it. confused

I went thru a MAJOR "Face Down" phase! woot!

I saw the "Jam of the Year" tour multiple times, and I KNEW that Prince would be on top of the left speaker for the bass solo. So at one show (PNC Arts Center, NJ), I begged the security guard to walk me down to the stage JUST for that song (7th in the set), because I had bought an ace card at Party City and had it laminated. When Prince said, "Next time U pull a card, it better be an ace!", BAM! I popped it up in his face! giggle He looked at me, chuckled, finished the song & I went back 2 my seat happy. highfive
I posted this story in a thread last year called "FAM SHAME disbelief"

Then on my 30th birthday, a friend of mine who "collects" lurking made me a tape called "Face Down at 30" with 7 different versions of the song from different "JoY" shows. I was playing it in my car, and my Mother said, "Have we been listening to the same song over & over?" lol

Now I usually skip it on shuffle. I think I killed it. redface

Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

The bone-shattering cost of naivity.

Something I learned: if you want to rebuke people who have wronged you

do it with great care and affection.

Its hard when your heart has been poisoned

but its very important.

I am yet to get it right.

U're absolutely right....this is a life long lesson....

Hate begets yet more hate.

But it is very important 2 let off steam, also...In order 2 spare the one who maybe on the receiving end, n' gain some equilibrium 4 urself...N' so it's pretty harmless in the form of a song!!!

Too many people c kindness as weakness, n' they will try 2 take u 4 all u got....It's no sin 2 b naive...but greed n' duplicity r hard 2 swallow.

Yes. They are.

It is a terrible shame to lose naivety

It is the essence of all beauty

I guess it takes wisdom to know how to preserve it

which we dont get until our naivety has been mocked by evil (in my experience)

I agree what you say about venting safely in song,

which is why I made that earlier comment about it being the appropriate emotion,

but sometimes the pain of 'spiritual rape' is so bad you just dont feel like singing.

its hard not to become what you hate when ur surrounded by it.

even the most resolute of individuals can become the very thing they fight

usually because they fight it

instead of seeing the higher lesson involved.

beautiful ace of hearts dropped quite the bomb.

"evolve or perish"

its pretty simple really.

people are either interested in goodness or they're not.

if not, well

the universe has interesting ways of making those people inactive

by taking away their 'voice'

like on the internet for example

cool

that way all the good people in the world can have some peace and quite

and enjoy it

without the noise.

i'm sure he can speak for himself on that.

i'dlove to sit back and hear what he has to about it.

i'm speaking from my own experiences with pure evil and spiritual rape.

i dont got no money.

nobody's ever paid me a cent in compensation. lol

maybe he figures after what they did to him

he deserved all the money he could get.

sounds good to me.

I once wrote a poem called "Sweet Innocence",
it was about being innocent and trusting and naive
and how I loved it when I was so innocent,
a time when life was carefree and everything new.
Now, my once carefree days have been replaced by
the reality of the world and a wisdom that I now appreciate.
