I think he's most suspect when he's twisting Scripture or misappropriating religious iconography for his own weird expression. Sure, artistically, the results have often been brilliant. But, from a religious perspective... 
Also, I'd add songs where he seems a bit maniacal (something he conveyed well with his Camille character). Gett Off Organ Grinder (that's what I always call it) Good call bgz. I can't really listen to Organ Grinder. The song has never really appealed to me (I prefer the more playful attitude of Gett Off), but this song is kind of spooky and the accompanying video just creeps me out. I know a lot of ladies think it's hot shit, but it's always been a little overtly sexual (even for P) and the whole ladies in cages/chains in front of faces I also find the whole 'Camille' idea pretty spooky...most of the songs on the proposed album have been mentioned in the thread. The fact that the voice is so high, but still obviously Prince gives the whole concept an "off" tone. Even songs like "Good Love" can be off putting - the "Gustav Mahler" lyric always throws me off ever time I revisit the track. Even "Housequake" has that vibe at points durin the track... | |
